A sign on the door calls the place\u00a0<strong>A Baked Joint<\/strong>\u00a0with a side\u00a0arrow explaining &#8220;temporary name.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Indecision is a terrible flaw,&#8221; says co-owner\u00a0<strong>Tony Velazquez<\/strong>. &#8220;We couldn&#8217;t make up our minds&#8230; We thought that when we get our permits, they&#8217;ll make us have a name, but that&#8217;s not the case. You can skirt around that.&#8221;\u00a0He hopes to settle on an official name in the next week or so.<\/p>\n<p>Located in Mount Vernon Triangle, the bakery\u00a0centers around breads baked in-house.\u00a0Velazquez says they have eight to 10 types\u00a0of bread right now, but they plan to eventually have as many as 15 to 20 loaves in rotation.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtoncitypaper.com\/blogs\/youngandhungry\/2014\/05\/15\/baked-wired-owners-bringing-artisanal-toast-to-d-c\/\" target=\"_blank\">promised<\/a>, there is artisanal toast on the menu inspired by the San Francisco craze that Velazquez and his wife, co-owner\u00a0<strong>Teresa Velazquez<\/strong>, experienced during a recent trip to California. But the owners have decided to make the fancy toast\u00a0a less prominent part of the menu.\u00a0The current menu offers toast with four topping options including &#8220;straight up butter&#8221;; Nutella, butter, and sea salt; and peanut butter with with Sriracha drizzle and cilantro.
