City Walker and Eastern Market Main Street announce partnership that brings hyper-local technology to a DC landmark <\/b>(WASHINGTON, DC) – City Walker<\/a> and Eastern Market Main Street<\/a> are proud to announce a new collaboration connecting local businesses and the people around them. City Walker<\/span> offers tourists and residents a new way to experience cities with an alternative and hyper-local tourism app. This focus on authentic, localized experiences created an easy fit with the mission of Eastern Market Main Street (EMMS), a designated DC Main Streets program working to support and promote small businesses on Capitol Hill. Together, the partnership will grow locals\u2019 awareness of the great small businesses surrounding them. The \u00a0custom hyper-local experience, which highlights EMMS businesses when you launch the app within the geo-fenced area, also encourages tourists who are visiting the nearby Capitol to visit the wealth of dining and shopping that is only a few blocks away. <\/span><\/p>\n

As more commerce is done online, EMMS and City Walker are showcasing the convenience and importance of shopping local. Neighborhood businesses carry similar products and are only a short walk away \u2013 shopping at a local business saves on shipping, supports local economy, and keeps dollars in the neighborhood. The Eastern Market Main Street experience in the City Walker product covers 2nd & East Capitol St to 2nd & Pennsylvania Ave up to 9th & Pennsylvania Ave back over to 9th and East Capitol.<\/span><\/p>\n
