For more than a century the Michelin Guide has been reviewing noteworthy restaurants all over the world. With three different star ratings, one star is awarded for \u201ca very good restaurant in it\u2019s category\u201d, two stars are awarded for<\/span> “Excellent cooking, worth a detour”, and three stars are awarded for “Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most recently twelve restaurants in Washington, DC earned earned Michelin stars, but none received the highest three star rating. Three restaurants got two stars and nine restaurants got one star. How many of these places have you visited? <\/span><\/p>\n

Two Stars:<\/b><\/h2>\n

Inn at Little Washington<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Minibar<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Pineapple & Pearls<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

One Star:<\/b><\/h2>\n

Blue Duck Tavern<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>The Dabney<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Fiola<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Kinship<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Masseria<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Plume<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Rose\u2019s Luxury<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Sushi Taro<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Tail Up Goat<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

While no restaurants in DC has received a three star rating, it is not the first city in this situation. There are actually only thirteen restaurants in the entire country that received three stars. <\/span><\/p>\n

New York\u2019s 2016 guide had six three-star rated restaurants that also had received all three stars in 2015. These restaurants are quite expensive having meals that range between $150-$300 per person. Truly world class cuisine can be found at <\/span>Chef\u2019s Table at Brooklyn Fare,<\/span><\/a> Eleven Madison Park<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Jean Georges<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Le Bernadin<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Masa<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Per Se<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
