Le Bon Cafe

Le Bon Café has been a cozy neighborhood favorite for over 20 years. Located just two blocks from the Capitol South Metro Station, this locally owned cafe and coffee bar features Parisian sandwiches, homemade soups and quiches, salads, and fresh baked pastries. Le Bon Café is a quaint and delightful choice for lunch with a friend.



A Baked Joint

Head north of the hill to find A Baked Joint. We added them to our lunch selections due to their stand out hand baked breads that make every sandwich a star. In addition to a dozen not-so-everyday daily breads including seeded wheat, country sourdough, and polenta, you will find specialty options like Quinoa-Tumeric, Kalamata Olive Rosemary, and Chocolate Cherry Sourdough and soon you’ll be picking up a loaf to go just like a local. A Baked Joint offers “simple food done well” and you can count on fresh, local ingredients and healthy options. In addition to a gourmet sandwich menu, they offer breakfast fare, soups, and pizza. Their sister coffee shop Baked & Wired, is highly recommended for your next stop in Georgetown.

Burritos Brothers is a tiny spot conveniently located next to the Library of Congress. They serve up Burritos, Tacos and Quesadillas with your choice of ingredients. Super quick and easy take out make Burrito Brothers popular for workers on the go for lunch or dinner. Great value, food, and service make their Pennsylvania Ave stand up shop neighborhood favorite.

 

Good Stuff Eatery

Good Stuff Eatery‘s Capitol Hill restaurant opened in 2008 with a mission to share delicious food created with locally sourced farm fresh ingredients. In a short time, their signature farmhouse burgers and hand-cut fries became a favorite for DC locals – including the Obama family (check out the Prez Obama Burger and Michelle Melt). The Good Stuff Eatery menu includes vegetarian selections and hand spun shakes. The grab and go option is easy as can be with convenient curb side pick up at their popular Pennsylvania Avenue location.
