Located at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel on 6th Avenue the Gingerbread Village event is an annual fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. A free event which accepts donations, Gingerbread Village is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Come here to see culinary experts and architects at their finest as they craft impressive arrangements of gingerbread all for a good cause. Diving with Santa

Getting your photo taken with Santa Claus is a common activity throughout the nation but Seattle offers an interesting take on this holiday tradition. The Seattle Aquarium has a diving Santa on select days for you and your family to have a unique holiday photo. Santa dives into the 120,000-gallon tank and floats his way around to take pictures with the aquarium’s guests of the day. Come here to grab a snap of your child in front of the tank or have the aquarium’s professional photographer take a picture of the whole family. A one of a kind way for anyone to see Santa this year.

Argosy Christmas Ship

Argosy cruises is already a staple in Seattle for entertainment and tourism and of course the cruise line delivers during the holiday season. The Argosy Christmas Ship Festival has a running history in the city for over half a century and has become a holiday tradition for many locals. The Christmas ship travels around the Puget Sound with a caroling choir onboard that stops all over the city to host your ears with holiday music. The cruise line also participates in the parade of boats where ships travel across Lake Union decorated in Christmas lights and holiday trimmings.

Seattle Center Winterfest

Located in the Seattle Center, Winterfest transforms the grounds into a joyful gala. Inside the center is the Winterfest ice skating rink so you can glide around while listening to holiday tunes. You can wander around the center to find singing carolers as well as live ice sculpting artists. Many events inside Winterfest are free, walking around this arena will put you in the holiday spirit without breaking the bank. St. Nick is at these grounds so another option in the city to get your snapchat on with the big guy himself before he heads off on his big delivery on the 25th.

Snow Showers in Pacific Place

Want to experience snow that you do not have to shovel? Come downtown to Pacific Place and experience a snow shower in the atrium. The showers occur twice an evening so plan to shop, eat and get ready for your indoor blizzard. What else could you ask for other than snow, food, and shopping? Oh, maybe Santa? Don’t worry he is at Pacific Place too on the second floor with his lap ready for you.
